Suvarnaprashan - Ayurvedic Sanskaar for a happy and healthy baby

Suvarnaprashanam is one of the sixteen Sanskaras which are practised all over India since ages. Even Ayurvedic texts have references of Suvarnaprashan and all the benefits of this sanskar.
               'Kashyap Samhita' which is very famous for neonatal (new borne) and paediatric care states that,

                सुवर्णप्राशनं हि एतत् मेधग्निबलवर्धनम्  |
                आयुष्यं मङ्गलं  वृष्यं पुण्यं वर्ण्यग्रहापहम्  || 

           which means Suvarnaprashanam increases child's Intellect , Digestive power , and strength. 
It is also Holy , Auspicious , improves Skin tone, colour and defends it from evil forces.

When :
   Suvarnaprashan drops are administered every month on the auspicious day of Pushya Nakshatra. Schedule for which is given at the end.

What are Contents :
   Suvarnaprashan drops are prepared from Suvarnabhasma (purified ash of gold), honey, cow ghee and various other ayurvedic herbs which promote mental growth.

Doses :
  dose varies for every individual child and it is decided according to child's age and weight.
